My husband and I are looking into purchasing some land or a farm where we can start farming to support the food (fresh produce) industry and wildlife however, the cost to purchase these types of properties is a bit too high. I've done some research and I learned that the government offers different types of grants for new farmers. My husband is a disabled military veteran and I, am a female minority. That said, I know that we qualify for something but figuring out which one is the key. We have been trying to figure out how to go about applying for grants but it gets too confusing to say the least. We live in the states of Missouri. I'm not sure who to contact and what websites to look into. I'm hoping that you can show us the way. Thank you.

Currently we don't have staff in place to provide one-on-one assistance to organizations to identify and apply for suitable grants opportunities. Southwest Missouri Grant Writers SMGWRITERS.ORG (https://www.drury.edu/nonprofit/pdf/2015Conference/morris.pdf) may be able to help you as they have established a network of grant writers in Missouri.
